A Cut Above The Rest

Early in 2018, the idea was being tossed around that Ocean Beach needed a meat shop.  We had done a little research about the town and realized that the people really wanted one also!  The everyday grind was getting monotonous and we were looking for a change so in the fall of 2019 we took the plunge and began the adventure that has become Ocean Beach Meat Co.  

 

It started with beef jerky.  We were making a whole mess of it in our home kitchen and folks loved it.  We then started slinging BBQ out of the same kitchen and folks went nuts for it!  After a slew of pop-up gigs and private catering events we decided to secure a brick-and-mortar and bring the community something it really needed...a nice meat shop.  

 

March 1st, 2020... All our prayers were seemingly answered when we secured a lease at 4853 Newport Avenue.  March 14th, 2020... COVID HIT.  We had no choice but to move along and be vigilant that we would pull through the craziness that became everyone's lives.  After more trials and tribulations than we can even remember we were finally able to open 11½ months later.  

 

We are very grateful to the communities of Ocean Beach and Point Loma for their continued support on our adventure.  We are always seeking ways to improve the shop and bring more to the community.  We appreciate how many folks have made us an everyday stop on their daily schedule and in general, a part of their lives.  We hope to become a staple of the OB community for many years to come as we plan to grow and provide faithful service and quality products.  Thank you for shopping local at OBMC!!
